DWINDLE HOUSE

DWINDLE

/ˈdwɪnd(ə)l/

diminish gradually in amount, size

As part of a downsizing exercise, Penna explored the possibility of constructing a three bedroom partially submerged, courtyard property situated a stones throw from our client’s late Victorian, suburban home. With space a premium due to a limited plot size, the challenge here focused on providing a balance between functionality and generosity of space. A thorough analysis of the client’s lifestyle habits during the projects initial design stages resulted in a series of interwoven well proportioned spaces punctuated with natural light.
